NOVERRA for Banks

Turn banking expertiseinto institutional capability.

Your bank’s expertise already exists, held by individuals, spread across documents, rebuilt in every workflow. We turn it into institutional capability, and put it to work with AI.

The management case

Why should bank management care?

Four institutional outcomes. None of them require a view on AI.

01

Reduce key-person dependency

Critical judgement stops being concentrated in a small number of senior people, and stops leaving when they do.

02

Build consistency of judgement

Teams performing the same work stop applying methodology materially differently, across branches, entities and seniority levels.

03

Reduce time-to-capability

New and transferred employees reach professional competence faster, with less dependence on the informal support of busy colleagues.

04

Put approved knowledge at the point of work

Less time searching, asking and reconstructing. The methodology that should apply is present where the work is done.

Measured, not asserted.
Preparation timeReworkOnboarding time Analytical consistencyDecision quality

Indicators are defined per engagement and measured against a baseline taken before the work begins.

The institutional knowledge problem

Banks do not have aknowledge problem.

They have a knowledge activation problem. The expertise already exists inside the institution. Four things simply do not happen by themselves.

  1. 01

    Senior expertise does not scale.

Critical knowledge stays concentrated in a small number of experienced people, and the institution’s performance is capped by their availability.

  2. 02

    Training does not become capability.

Attendance and content delivery are measured. Consistent professional performance is not.

  3. 03

Documents do not become usable knowledge.

A repository answers where is it. It does not answer how should this be applied here and the same methodology often circulates in several versions at once.

  4. 04

Generic AI does not know how your bank works.

Without your methodology, risk appetite, approved interpretations and precedents, AI remains generic, confidently.

The NOVERRA Banking Knowledge System

Three products. One system. No fixed order.

Each product is independent and delivers value on its own. A bank can begin with any one of them, run two in parallel, or engage only one. They reinforce each other. They do not depend on each other in a fixed sequence.

ONE PRODUCTA single capability domain, a single knowledge domain, or a single assistant use case.
TWO IN PARALLELCapability development running alongside knowledge structuring in the same domain.
ALL THREEA full domain programme, sequenced to the bank’s own priorities rather than ours.
WHY THEY REINFORCE EACH OTHER
  1. 01

AI built on unstructured knowledge becomes a generic chatbot.

  2. 02

Structured knowledge without capability becomes a library nobody applies.

  3. 03

Capability without capture leaves with the person who acquired it.

EACH ONE WORKS ALONE. TOGETHER THEY HOLD.

Relevance

What does this mean for you?

MANAGEMENT

Institutional consistency and execution capability that do not depend on a handful of individuals. Capability becomes a managed asset with a baseline and a measured change.

BUSINESS & RISK

Consistent analysis and judgement across teams. Faster, more complete preparation. Fewer reworks. Knowledge available where the decision is actually made.

HR & LEARNING

An operating system for building business-critical capabilities, with measurement that survives a budget conversation. We do not replace your L&D function. We give it an engine.

PROFESSIONALS

Less time searching. Authoritative guidance at the moment of need. Support that improves judgement rather than substituting for it.

Imagine a corporate credit analyst with the bank’s best knowledge beside them.

LEARN

The analyst develops capability in business and financial analysis, cash flow, credit judgement, structuring, proposal development and committee reasoning, on the bank’s own cases and risk appetite, measured against a baseline.

CAPTURE

The bank’s judgement becomes institutional knowledge. EBITDA normalisation. When a seasonal working-capital need should be an overdraft rather than a revolver. The exceptions, the recurring errors, the precedents and the reasoning behind them.

Human credit judgement + bank knowledge + AI assistance

The assistant prepares, structures, retrieves and challenges. It does not approve, decline or price. The credit decision remains with the officer.

Human judgement and governance

AI does not replace banking judgement.

It makes better judgement easier to exercise.

HUMAN ACCOUNTABLE

The employee remains responsible for review, validation and professional judgement. Verification points are defined in the assistant’s design, not left to practice.

KNOWLEDGE GOVERNED

Owner, validator, version, effective date, review date, permissions. Institutional knowledge outranks generic model knowledge wherever the bank has an approved position.

AI ASSISTIVE

Retrieve, explain, guide, challenge, check completeness and draft, within defined boundaries, grounded in approved sources, with escalation where judgement is required.

WHAT “GOVERNED” ACTUALLY MEANS

A knowledge asset is not a document in a folder. It is a record with an owner, a validity period and a defined boundary of use. This is what one looks like.

How these engagements run

Three engagements, described end to end.

These are the three shapes the work takes most often inside banking institutions, set out as a specification rather than as a story. Scope, duration, what the bank puts in, what NOVERRA delivers, and what the institution holds when the engagement closes.

Individual client engagements are described only with the written consent of the institution concerned. What follows is the pattern of the work, not an account of any single bank.

01
PEOPLE
Mid-sized regional bank · corporate and SME credit
SCOPE · One credit function, 12 to 25 peopleFORMAT · In-house programme on live filesDURATION · 8 to 16 weeks

Bringing credit judgement to one standard across a function

THE SITUATION

The bank approves credit competently, but not consistently. The quality of an argument depends on who wrote it. Three or four senior people hold the real standard in their heads, and nothing in the institution states what a defensible credit case actually contains.

WHAT THE BANK PROVIDES
  • Anonymised credit files from the last 12 to 18 months
  • Two to three senior practitioners released for calibration sessions
  • One named owner inside the credit or risk function
WHAT NOVERRA DELIVERS
  • Capability baseline across the function, by role rather than by name
  • In-house programme built on the bank’s own files, not generic cases
  • Calibration sessions with members of the credit committee
  • A written standard of what a defensible credit argument contains
WHAT THE BANK HAS AT THE END

One shared standard for credit argumentation across the function, written down, owned by a named person, and usable from the first day of onboarding.

KNOWLEDGE
Regional banking group · risk and corporate
SCOPE · One function across multiple entitiesFORMAT · Structured knowledge captureDURATION · 3 to 6 months

Moving credit reasoning out of people and into the institution

THE SITUATION

The reasoning behind decisions exists in individuals rather than in the bank. Every retirement, exit and reorganisation removes part of it from the building, and the same questions are answered from scratch in each entity.

WHAT THE BANK PROVIDES
  • Access to nominated experts, in defined and protected time
  • Sign-off authority for approved content, at function level
  • One owner in the risk function accountable for the outcome
WHAT NOVERRA DELIVERS
  • Structured capture sessions with the bank’s own practitioners
  • Knowledge assets with owner, approval status and review date on each
  • A governance model that states who approves, who reviews and when
  • Handover so the bank can extend the base without NOVERRA
WHAT THE BANK HAS AT THE END

An approved institutional knowledge base with named ownership and a review cycle, not a document library that ages quietly.

03
AI
Bank or development finance institution
SCOPE · One process, one teamFORMAT · Pilot with defined success criteriaDURATION · 4 to 6 weeks, then a decision

Putting approved knowledge into daily work, without moving the decision

THE SITUATION

The institution wants AI inside the credit process but cannot expose unapproved content, cannot accept answers without a source, and will not blur accountability for the decision itself. Most vendor pilots fail on exactly these three points.

WHAT THE BANK PROVIDES
  • An approved knowledge base, or the output of engagement 02
  • One defined process with a measurable current state
  • A named contact in IT and one in compliance
WHAT NOVERRA DELIVERS
  • An assistant that answers only from approved institutional content
  • A source citation on every answer, traceable to the approved asset
  • A stated human-decision boundary, agreed before the pilot begins
  • An Executive Impact Review against the criteria set at the start
WHAT THE BANK HAS AT THE END

A tested pilot with evidence and a decision on whether to scale, rather than a system in production that nobody decided to put there.

Durations and scope figures describe typical engagements and are confirmed per institution before any proposal is issued.
The expertise behind the system

The methodology comes from inside credit risk.

Aleksandar Vasilski, Founder of NOVERRA
Aleksandar Vasilski
Founder · formerly Director of Corporate Credit Risk, Erste Bank

More than 20 years working with banking, financial and corporate clients. His career began at Raiffeisen and Erste Bank in corporate credit risk, the position from which a company’s financial system is judged from the outside in, and where the consequences of a weak analysis arrive on the balance sheet rather than in a feedback form.

That origin decides how NOVERRA works. The methodology is built from the credit side rather than adapted from an academic curriculum. It starts from the questions a credit committee actually asks, where the repayment comes from, what the structure is protecting against, what has been assumed rather than established, and works backwards into what a team needs to be able to do.

It is also why the human-decision boundary is treated as architecture rather than as a disclaimer. Anyone who has sat on the approving side of a credit file understands what it means to be accountable for a judgement. That accountability is not something an assistant can be given, and NOVERRA designs on that assumption from the first workshop onward.

NOVERRA delivers with a network of senior banking practitioners drawn in by domain and engagement. Each is a former practitioner in the field they cover: corporate credit, risk, or finance. Each is named to the bank before the engagement begins.
How NOVERRA engages

From opportunity to measurable institutional capability.

We do not begin with a proposal. We begin with a diagnosis, and we prove the model on a defined scope before the bank commits to scale.

01 DISCOVER

Identify where capability, knowledge or workflow constraints create the most value if resolved.

02 DIAGNOSE

Assess capability, knowledge readiness and AI readiness in the specific domain.

03 DESIGN

Define the capability framework, knowledge architecture or assistant blueprint.

04 IMPLEMENT

Deliver in a defined scope, with success criteria agreed in writing before work begins.

05 MEASURE & SCALE

Measure against the baseline. Expand on evidence.

● ○ ○ ○ ○   QUESTION 1 OF 5

Where is your bank’s most valuable knowledge today?

Your bank already has the expertise. The question is whether it remains with individuals, or becomes institutional capability.
